Church Ministries

 Deacons serve the Lord by conducting the caring ministry of the church-doing the benevolence work, visiting the sick, being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation-for the purposes of freeing the pastoral staff to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word, promoting unity within the church, and facilitating the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Deaconess evangelize to the unsaved, assist in the spiritual matters of the church and serve to assist with the deacons' ministries and the congregation. Deaconess prepare communion, candidates for baptism, mentor young women of the church/community, comfort those in mourning and administer services as needed.

Trustees function as Christian stewards of property God has entrusted to the congregation. Trustees supervise and maintain both the physical property of the congregation and gifts made to the congregation so that the ministries of the congregation can be effective, and so that all legal requirements related to the property are satisfied.

The Director of Christian Education works to develop and implement innovative ways to make Christian Education more effective through continuing education. Provides leadership development training for church leaders. Works closely with the CGMBC Ministries and Sunday School Superintendents to enhance Christian Education opportunities for children and families. The Beautification Ministry use their services and talents to enhance the house of worship and create a beautiful place to magnify the name of the Lord.

Sunday School is a gathering where worshipers learn Christian doctrine from a uniform Lesson Curriculum. It helps attendees to grow in the knowledge and grace of God through regular and balanced studies of the scriptures.

The Church Hostess Ministry takes the responsibility of welcoming and receiving Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church visitors coming for the first time, as well as your current church members.

The Finance Ministry receives the funds that come into the church treasury, records the funds, deposits the funds and forwards information about the deposit to the Church Treasurer.

The Program Ministry ministers by planning and assisting in the church events and programs agreed upon by the committee and deacons.

Christian Education is to teach and serve, reaching out to help people to connect to Jesus Christ and to each other. To equip them for their Ministry in the church in order to magnify His name and see the unchurched become the church.

The Music Ministry strives to create an awareness of the beauty of music for Christ-sake throughout our church. This ministry consists of: Youth Choir, Gospel Choir, Adult Choir, and Men’s Choir.

The Marriage Ministry focuses on strengthening marriages through Biblical principles, increase marriages understanding of husband and wife roles in God’s order, and the understanding of the family in church.

First Monday of each month at 7:00 pm

The Singles Ministry supports unmarried, divorced, or widowed single individuals in their development of an effective Christian lifestyle, regardless of age.
